The internet influencer and host of the Talk Tuah podcast said that the scandal badly affected her mental health—but not as much as when she first blew up on the internet following the street interview.
It’s been a minute since Welch, who completely inexplicably rode a single viral moment of TikTok fame to internet stardom, has spoken about…well, anything. Up until December 4, she went about her usual business, which included posting episodes of her Talk Tuah podcast and heavily promoting $HAWK coin at just about every turn on Twitter. Once $HAWK officially launched, the bottom seemed to fall out.

A distributed ledger is a database with no central administrator that is maintained by a network of nodes. In permissionless distributed ledgers, anyone is able to join the network and operate a node. In permissioned distributed ledgers, the ability to operate a node is reserved for a pre-approved group of entities.
At the time of writing, we estimate that there are more than 2 million pairs being traded, made up of coins, tokens and projects in the global coin market. As mentioned above, we have a due diligence process that we apply to new coins before they are listed. This process controls how many of the cryptocurrencies from the global market are represented on our site.
A coin is a cryptocurrency that is the native asset on its own blockchain. These cryptocurrencies are required to pay for transaction fees and basic operations on the blockchain. BTC (Bitcoin) and ETH (Ethereum) are examples of coins.
The two major categories of cryptocurrencies are Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-Stake. Proof-of-Work coins use mining, while Proof-of-Stake coins use staking to achieve consensus about the state of the ledger.
Cryptocurrency shiba inu
The experiment was a succes, and in October 2021 SHIB briefly flipped Dogecoin to become the most-valued meme coin by market capitalization. Robinhood executive Christine Brown has lauded the efforts of the Shiba Inu community, saying that one of her favorite things was seeing it engage with the community to make its wishes heard.
Since SHIB doesn’t yet have a solid use case, unlike many other major cryptocurrencies, it’s difficult to set a fundamental valuation or a floor price for it. The community being sundered could be catastrophic for its price.
In his blog RYOSHI RESEARCH, he characterizes himself as “just some guy of no consequence tapping at a keyboard.” Ryoshi said that usually in projects there are different roles like a CEO, a “tech guy,” and a roadmap, resulting in “someone plebs can bitch at.” He stresses that with Shiba, no one person is accountable or responsible and underlines that he owns 0 SHIB to this day. For this reason, Ryoshi can be “pure and unbiased,” getting satisfaction from Shiba “in other ways.”
SHIB had an initial total supply of 1 quadrillion or 1,000,000,000,000,000 tokens. In May 2021, however, the pseudonymous creator of SHIB known as “Ryoshi” sent half of the total supply to Vitalik Buterin, one of the co-founders of the Ethereum blockchain, who burned 90% of his tokens right away, permanently removing them from circulation. Buterin donated the remaining 10% to charity.

The suit includes a dozen plaintiffs who claim to have collectively lost more than $150,000. It alleges that the defendants “leveraged Welch’s celebrity status and connections” and “created a speculative frenzy” in order to jack up the coin’s price as trading began, luring in “first-time cryptocurrency participants” who were drawn to the project as fans of Welch. The complaint contends that Schultz and So violated securities laws, and even indicated their efforts to skirt those laws on the Spaces call. It notes, too, that $HAWK was never registered with the SEC.
After two weeks of silence, Welch spoke out on Friday about her commitment to help those who have lost money. She wrote on X: “I take this situation extremely seriously and want to address my fans, the investors who have been affected, and the broader community. I am fully cooperating with and am committed to assisting the legal team representing the individuals impacted, as well as to help uncover the truth, hold the responsible parties accountable, and resolve this matter.”
In the lawsuit filed Thursday against the $HAWK creators in New York District Court, investors accused overHere Ltd, its founder Clinton So, social media influencer Alez Larson Schultz and the Tuah The Moon Foundation of fraudulently selling Welch’s celebrity memecoin, per Hollywood Reporter.
The call came to an abrupt end when Welch interrupted to say that she was going to bed, a sign-off that quickly became part of her meme lore, in part because she then vanished from public view. No new episodes of Talk Tuah were released, and Welch’s social media accounts went dark. Crypto traders enthusiastically speculated that Welch could be in serious legal trouble, joking that she would go straight “tuah” jail, or at the very least “talk tuah” judge. At least one investor filed a complaint with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
